ABOUT IDEA

Commitment to Ongoing Growth

The pursuit of genuine inclusion and diversity remains an evolving journey. Inclusion and Diversity East Anglia is committed to continuous learning, active listening, and strategic adaptation. As communities develop, so too does the organisation’s approach and programming. The organisation warmly invites all who share its vision to join—whether as volunteers, partners, donors, or participants. By working collectively, it is possible to build a society in which every individual’s history is honoured, every voice is heard, and every person is empowered to realise their full potential.
While the organisation’s foundation lies in the celebration and empowerment of Black heritage, Inclusion and Diversity East Anglia remains resolutely committed to inclusivity. It is the organisation’s conviction that diversity is not solely a matter of representation but a celebration of the differences that fortify communities.

The charity actively engages with individuals from all backgrounds—regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, ability, or socioeconomic status—by creating safe, welcoming environments and fostering dialogue to bridge divides. The approach to inclusivity includes:

  • Intersectionality: Recognising the complexity of identities and the possibility of multiple concurrent forms of discrimination or exclusion. Programmes are designed to address these intersections.
  • Community Partnerships: Collaborating with local organisations, faith groups, and advocacy networks to extend reach and optimise resources.
  • Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Training: Delivering workshops to equip participants with practical tools for challenging prejudice and nurturing empathy.
  • Accessible Programming: Committing to the removal of barriers, ensuring all events are physically, culturally, and financially accessible.
